National Butchers' Week
This week may be news to you, but for us butchers, this is our Christmas!
Our Head Butcher Kyle has put together something special in recognition of all the hard working, chop wielding brothers and sisters that work within the meat industry.
Actually, not just one special...but seven!
Every day will showcase a new, daily special for the entire week, so each visit will deliver something different and exciting for you to take home and try.
All specials will be promoted on the morning of each day via our social media channels, so STAY TUNED!
To celebrate Easter week, we'll have a range of Spring themed specials in our Cafe - our Creme Egg Hot Chocolate is back, and new for 2018 re our Malteser Bunny Milkshake and Hot Cross Bun Cappuccino!
April Fools Day/Easter Sunday
We all love a good joke, and we have a few things up our sleeve this April fools!
For an easy April fools, why not trick your family with a Stuart Thornley cake pork pie or cake scotch egg? With a creme egg centre and chocolate fudge brownie coating, the cake scotch egg makes both a unique Easter gift and April fools trick!
If you're in our Cafe, some of Stuart's Easter themed cakes will also be available for you to indulge in, and we'll of course be serving our much loved Sunday Roast dinner.
The butchers know its hard to get the all the family to sit down and enjoy a meal together, so to do our bit to help you get that quality time, we have a selection of roasting joints ideal for that home cooked Sunday lunch.
Will you go for the old time favourite of a nice square cut topside, lean yet succulent? Or
more in the swine frame of mind?
Nothing beats a large piece of outdoor reared pork leg with great crispy crackling, a must for any Sunday lunch!
International Carrot Day
Many people overlook the simple carrot but here at Albion Farm we love them!
That's because we stock locally grown bunched carrots, chantenay and tri colour in addition to the basic everyday carrot. We use them in cakes, soups, stir frys and stews, they're not just for rabbits!
We'll also be enjoying some delicious carrot cake in the cafe!
Loaded with vitamin A and antioxidants, these veggies protect against cancer, reverse signs of aging and improve our vision - no wonder it's a day to celebrate!
World Health Day
Here at Albion Farm we love our fruit and veg, and pride ourselves on sourcing quality fruit and veg that you can't find in the supermarket.
Dependent on season, you will find all sorts of unique fruit and vegetables; including yellow courgettes, kohl rabi, mini parsnips, kumquats and globe artichokes, but our favourite of them all is the cocktail avocado.
With NO STONE, it's the perfect no mess option for a healthy breakfast, lunch or smoothie! That's right, why not add the cocktail avocado to your favourite smoothie to give extra creaminess? It works a treat!
This World Health Day, why not pick a fruit or vegetable you have not yet tried and experiment with a new recipe?
Our staff will be happy to help with ideas and inspiration.
We asked our Head Butcher Kyle how important meat is in a staple diet, and he couldn’t wait to tell us!
'Meat based protein is fundamental to a rich, healthy lifestyle. We all know that meat proteins are the building blocks of muscle, cartilage, skin and bone. But what a lot of people don’t know is that meat provides over 10 essential vitamins and minerals. Each one essential to the bodily functions we take for granted, ranging from helping the nervous system function to the production of new red blood cells.
The big meat scares are stigmas from past generations - now, with the ability to shop with butchers dedicated to quality, and as important affordability, a meat rich diet is now available to everyone.'
UK Coffee Week
Did you know that our own unique blend of coffee is available for you to take home from our Farm Shop?
Available in two blends, in both ground and whole bean, it's a great all rounder as it is both smooth, yet has just the right amount of kick.
For coffee lovers out there, our Butchery also offers coffee and cracked pepper rump steaks and kebabs - yes you heard it right, if you haven't tried them already you really must!
Either make for a quick, yet warming meal served with rice, or your favourite style of potatoes.
In the Cafe, our baristas will make you a great coffee, whether single or double shot, flat white or otherwise!
National Garlic Day
Love it or hate it, the world wouldn't be the same without garlic!
If you love it as much as we do, then be sure to pop into Albion Farm Shop where you will find white garlic, smoked garlic and black garlic.
We also stock The Bay Tree's delicious garlic pickle, which is the perfect accompaniment to our rump steak burgers...that’s dinner sorted!
National Tea Day
Tea lovers are in for a treat when they visit Albion Farm Shop & Cafe as we have not one, but two brands of tea available - Bluebird and Tea Huggers.
Both are uniquely blended for particular moods and purposes, so whether you're after a calming green or herbal tea, or invigorating rooibos tea, we have them all!
What's more is that they have cute and quirky names such as Bluebirds ‘Mojitea’ and Tea Hugger’s ‘Skinny Minny’ which we love - for National Tea Day, the Shop will be running a promotional offer when you purchase 2 packs of tea...which will help you out a bit when you can't decide!
In the Cafe, our wider range of teas are available for you to just sit, relax and have a great brew, while taking in our stunning view.
St George's Day
We love all things English, so the closer to our hearts the better.
Today we honour the dragon slayer St George by feasting on English food and drink! Whether you decide on a pie and pint, or cosy stew, be sure to pop to Albion Farm for your feast of food.
The butchers are in full swing to show what is close to our Saddleworth hearts, with our very own Moor reared mutton, which will be on special offer all weekend to show you what the 'best of British' means to us.
Mutton is known for its deep rich texture with an intense taste that surpasses lamb. Great for all slow cooking options, and we think the best meat for any curry!
British Beef Week
23RD APRIL - 1ST MAY
British Beef is what and who we are.
This special week highlights the produce and ethos the butchers stand for here at Albion Farm.
All our beef is hung on the bone for a minimum of 21 days to ensure maximum taste with a tender bite.
Did you know the beef we use are Welsh Black Cattle?
They are one of the oldest breeds in Britain and date back to before Roman times. The breed are great for foraging on the hills, provide less problems during calving - luckily for the farmer. Above all else, they are one of the most hardy breeds so are ideal for life on the Moors.
Be sure to give the Butchery a visit for exciting new beef dishes that will solve your meal time dramas!
On the deli you will find steak and ale, meat and potato, and beef and blue cheese pies - plus some one-off creations to showcase the best of British Beef.
Eat What You Want Day

World Whisky Day
For a day of global whisky celebration, all you need is a bottle of whisky and a friend to share it with!
We recommend Sloemotion Whisky from York. which is available in two expressions;
Sloe whisky: With a long and rounded finish of delicious, smoky earthy tones, this is British countryside in a bottle. It is scrumptiously fruity and at the same time seriously grown up!
Bramble whisky: A delicate blend of Scotch whisky and wild blackberries, it can often be described as similar to mulled wine, with a whisky kick and a frilly fringe of fruit.
Saddleworth’s biggest get together takes place each year on Whit Friday, drawing crowds from far and wide.
You’ll almost certainly be indulging in lots of delicious food and drink, so why not pop to Albion to get stocked for the weekend. You'll find meat packs, beer boxes and savoury snacks ready to grab and go.
We've done the hard work so you can get back to celebrating with family and friends!
Albion Farm Summer Festival
The weekend following Whit Friday. we will be inviting all our producers to showcase their delicious produce and hand out lots of delicious tasting samples.
As this weekend is now a firm Saddleworth favourite, we will be sure to have plenty to see and do with family and friends, including the return of Kyle's butchery and sausage making demos - as well as lots of items for you to take home for your feast and BBQ.
And, as the festival falls just after 'lambing' this year, you may even get to see some of our newborn lambs!
